For US importers

Import software for US importers, from first container to 100 a month

Tyllus is import operations software for US importers, from a single operator shipping a first container to teams moving 100 or more a month. It runs purchase orders, shipments, container tracking, documents, the customs broker handoff and landed cost in one record per shipment. Sign up on your own, open a sample shipment, and bring partners in only when a step needs them.

Can a small import team start without an implementation project?

Yes. Sign-up is self-serve and onboarding has two steps: name your workspace and pick a first goal. There is nothing to install and no integration to set up before your first shipment.

Suppliers, freight forwarders and customs brokers join only when a step needs them, through a secure email link and without creating an account. You can start in five ways:

  • Create a shipment by hand.
  • Import your Excel file in any column layout; the PO number is the only required column.
  • Open a sample shipment, a safe sandbox that never affects your numbers or emails partners.
  • Ask the Tyllus team to set it up with you on an optional 15-minute setup call.
  • Track a container you simply want to watch.

What does a US importer run in Tyllus?

Tyllus covers the work around an ocean import into the United States, from the purchase order to the final landed cost.

Tyllus works alongside your licensed customs broker rather than replacing it: it does not file the ISF or customs entries, and it makes sure the broker receives complete documents on time.

What a US importer runs in Tyllus
WorkWhat Tyllus does
Purchase ordersPO number, supplier, equipment, cargo-ready and must-arrive-by dates; status moves from Open to Cargo Ready to Shipped on its own, and one click creates the shipment
ShipmentsAn 11-step US import workflow per shipment, where 9 of the 11 steps send the right partner a request and reminders automatically
Container trackingAutomatic tracking on 11 ocean carriers with daily ETA re-checks, and ETA checks by the Tyllus team for any other line
DocumentsReads proforma and commercial invoices, packing lists, house bills of lading, ISF (10+2), CBP Form 7501, forwarder and broker invoices
Customs broker handoffCustoms request sent 7 days before ETA; the broker confirms ISF filing and clearance status through a secure link
Entries and dutyFiled entries from the 7501, duty history by month or year, and spend by HTS code
Landed costGoods, freight, broker fees, duties and fees per shipment, built from the documents Tyllus reads
ReportsSpend, container volume by month, partner and trade-lane analysis, missing-invoice and high-duty alerts, CSV export

How does Tyllus grow with the team?

Tyllus is built for teams moving roughly 10 to 100+ containers a month, so the first operator and the larger team that follows use the same workspace. Each shipment's requests, reminders, document checks and ETA re-timing run on their own, so adding containers does not add chasing work.

As the team grows, invite purchasing, logistics and finance colleagues as Admins or Members, import shipments in bulk from spreadsheets, and ask Tyllus AI questions across up to 1,000 shipments. The Tyllus for larger import teams page shows how that works at 100 containers a month.

Which partners does Tyllus coordinate?

Tyllus coordinates the three partners in every import: the supplier, the freight forwarder and the customs broker. A partner organisation can have a primary recipient plus copied colleagues, and nobody needs a Tyllus account.

  • Suppliers set the cargo-ready date, confirm stuffing and upload shipping documents.
  • Freight forwarders confirm the booking with vessel, voyage and ETD, submit master bill of lading and container numbers, confirm arrival or report a delay, and upload their invoice.
  • Customs brokers receive the customs request 7 days before ETA and confirm ISF filing and clearance status.
  • When a partner stays silent, reminders go out in rounds and your team is warned; “Not ready yet” answers are asked again the next day.
