Import operations resources: guides, checklists and free tools

These resources explain responsibilities, evidence, handoffs, and limits in a US import workflow. They are educational material, not customs, legal, tax, carrier, or brokerage advice.

Six practical tools, ready to use

Choose the operating question you need to answer. Every tool explains its method in HTML first, works without an account, keeps entered data on your device, and offers a printable or downloadable result.

Start with the operating sequence

Use the shipment workflow when the question is what happens next, who needs to respond, and which evidence should move with the shipment. Use the document checklist when the problem is missing or unassigned records.

  • Import shipment workflow — lifecycle, ownership, follow-ups, and exceptions.
  • Import document checklist — working set by partner and milestone.
  • Import operations glossary — the terms used across Tyllus workflows.
  • Choosing import operations software — a decision framework without invented scores.
  • Shipment handoff template — an owner, evidence, deadline, and fallback table.
  • Import operations questions — direct answers with explicit scope and sources.
  • Landed-cost evidence methodology — auditable cost layers, calculation controls, and error examples.
  • Import Operations Maturity Benchmark — a private-by-design, six-dimension self-assessment with evidence prompts and no industry ranking.
  • Import follow-up cost calculator — a local-only labor and documented-exposure worksheet with transparent formulas and no savings guarantee.
  • File findability scorecard — test retrieval, ownership, version confidence, and missing-evidence controls.
  • ETA exception-response checklist — verify the signal, assign decisions, escalate responses, and retain closure evidence.
  • U.S. import notices — customs, tariffs and shipping updates with dates and links to the original publications.

How to use these resources

Begin with the short answer, then verify the scope and source notes before applying a statement to a live shipment. Regulatory and filing decisions belong with CBP guidance and a qualified customs professional.

When a guide changes, its content-owned review date changes. Deploy dates alone do not make operational guidance fresh.

Source hierarchy

Tyllus capabilities are described from current verified product behavior. US customs requirements come from official CBP or other responsible agencies. A Tyllus guide never replaces the primary authority.

Map the guidance to your real workflow.

Use the resources to identify the missing handoff, then ask Tyllus whether the product supports that operating requirement.
