Free local-only assessment
How mature is your import operation — and where is the weakest handoff?
Answer 24 observable-practice questions across six dimensions. Your browser calculates a dimension profile, evidence coverage, and a guarded orientation level without uploading answers, storing a response, or comparing you with an invented industry average.

Local-only · no response collection
Select one observable practice level for every statement. Confirm evidence only when you can point to a current reviewable record; no file is requested or uploaded.

What this benchmark measures
The assessment measures whether importer-side operating practices are absent, person-dependent, repeatable, controlled, or improving. It focuses on work a team can observe: current ownership, recorded handoffs, document status, exception response, cost evidence, customs-broker coordination, and corrective review.
It does not measure software adoption, customs compliance, professional competence, carrier performance, or business outcomes. A high score does not prove lower cost, faster clearance, fewer delays, or better financial performance.
- 24 required questions; no skipped or not-applicable answers.
- Six equally weighted dimensions; each remains visible in the result.
- Evidence coverage is reported separately and never adds bonus points.
- The overall orientation cannot hide a severely weak dimension.
How scoring works
Each answer receives 0 to 4 points. Four questions produce a dimension score out of 16; all 24 produce a raw score out of 96. Scores are normalized to 0–100 and rounded to one decimal place.
The overall orientation cannot sit more than one level above the weakest dimension. Five dimensions at Improving and one at Fragmented therefore cannot produce an Improving overall label. The complete dimension profile is always the primary result.
| Score | Orientation | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 0–19.9 | Fragmented | Work depends on memory, inboxes, or individual rescue. |
| 20–39.9 | Reactive | Action mainly begins after a gap becomes visible. |
| 40–59.9 | Repeatable | Core practices recur with uneven coverage or evidence. |
| 60–79.9 | Controlled | Named owners, shared methods, and reviewable records cover most work. |
| 80–100 | Improving | Evidence is used to find recurring weakness and verify corrective action. |
Privacy by architecture, not by promise
Your answers stay on this page. Tyllus does not receive, store, or add scores, answers, or evidence selections to analytics. Calculation, print output, JSON export, and optional share-state encoding happen inside your browser.
A share link contains only contract version, 24 scores, and 24 evidence booleans. Never add a company, person, shipment, partner, document, amount, credential, or operational identifier. Anyone holding a share link can read its encoded assessment state, so share it only with intended reviewers.
Why this is not an industry ranking
Version 1 has no eligible cross-company dataset. No average, percentile, leader label, customer comparison, or performance claim is calculated. The result describes one completed team self-assessment at one point in time.
Any future first-party report requires separate research consent, at least 50 eligible organizations for an overall descriptive release, at least 30 per published segment, cell suppression below 10 organizations, uncertainty reporting, reproducible analysis, privacy and methodology review, and explicit owner approval. Even then, findings describe participating organizations—not every importer or the import industry.
Turn the weakest dimension into an operating plan.
Use the result to choose one observable practice, one owner, and one record that can prove improvement. Then evaluate whether Tyllus fits the workflow without treating product adoption as evidence of maturity.
