Shipment hub: one record per import shipment
Tyllus Shipment Hub gives importers and their import teams one record per shipment, holding its step-by-step import workflow, partner requests, documents, container tracking, costs and activity history. Most steps ask the right supplier, freight forwarder or customs broker automatically, and your team can complete any step itself with one click.

What are the steps of a shipment in Tyllus?
Every US shipment runs the same 11-step import workflow, from cargo readiness to final documents; Mexico shipments follow the same flow without the ISF step. Nine of the 11 US steps send the right partner a request automatically and keep reminding them until they answer.
The steps that depend on the ETA move whenever the ETA changes. For Mexico imports, the customs broker confirms that the pedimento was validated and paid and that the goods were released.
Read the 11 steps for US imports
1. Cargo readiness: the supplier sets the cargo-ready date. 2. Booking: the freight forwarder confirms the booking details. 3. Stuffing: the freight forwarder confirms the container is stuffed. 4. ISF filing: for US imports, the customs broker confirms the ISF was filed; Mexico shipments skip this step. 5. Shipping documents: the supplier uploads the documents and Tyllus reads them. 6. Tracking details: the forwarder submits the MBL and container numbers. 7. Missing documents check: 5 days before the ETA, each missing document is requested. 8. Customs clearance: 7 days before the ETA, the customs broker receives the customs request and confirms the clearance status. 9. Arrival: the forwarder confirms arrival or reports a delay. 10. Forwarder invoice: requested after arrival. 11. Final documents: checked after arrival.
Can your team complete a step instead of waiting for a partner?
Yes. Every step has a card with two actions: Complete now, to enter the details yourself, and Request now, to send the partner request immediately. Either way, the shipment moves on.
Partners never need a Tyllus account. Suppliers, freight forwarders and customs brokers answer through a secure link tied to one shipment and one request.
- Each step sends reminder rounds; if the partner stays silent, Tyllus warns you by email and the step waits for your decision.
- A Not ready yet answer is asked again the next day.
- A partner whose link has expired can ask for a fresh link.
- Each partner organisation has groups: a primary recipient plus colleagues in copy.
- Automatic emails can be paused for any single shipment.
What lives in each shipment record?
Everything about one shipment sits on one page, so anyone on the team can pick it up without searching through email.
| Part of the record | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Steps | Each workflow step (11 for US imports, 10 for Mexico) with its status, the partner asked, and Complete now or Request now |
| Partners | Supplier, freight forwarder and customs broker, each with a primary recipient and copied colleagues |
| Documents | Proforma and commercial invoices, packing list, house bill of lading, ISF, CBP Form 7501 (pedimento for Mexico) and forwarder and broker invoices, read by Tyllus, with values marked Accepted or Needs review |
| Other files | Photos, exam, terminal, storage and demurrage invoices, and proof of delivery |
| Tracking | MBL, container numbers, carrier, vessel and voyage, carrier events, ETD and ETA |
| Customs | ISF and clearance status, plus entry details and duty lines from the 7501 or pedimento |
| Costs | Goods, freight, duty and fees, and broker fees, adding up to the shipment's landed cost |
| Purchase order | The PO the shipment came from, with supplier, equipment and dates carried over |
| Activity history | A dated history of the shipment, including link activity and every material ETA change |
How do you find the shipments that need you?
Filters cut the shipment list down to the work that needs a person today, and bulk import and export handle the rest.
- Needs attention: shipments with an open exception.
- Delayed: shipments whose ETA has passed without a confirmed arrival.
- Missing documents: shipments still waiting for a required document.
- Export the shipment list to Excel for meetings or month-end work.
- Import shipments from a spreadsheet in Tyllus's template or your own layout; the PO number is the only required column, and a review grid lets you edit rows, assign partners and request documents before the shipments are created.
- Create a shipment from a purchase order in one click; supplier, equipment and dates carry over.
Can you try the Shipment Hub before adding real shipments?
Yes. Open the sample shipment: it is a safe sandbox that never affects your numbers and never emails partners.
When you are ready, start the way that suits your team: create a shipment, import your Excel file, track a container, or ask the Tyllus team to set it up with you on an optional 15-minute call.
Is the Shipment Hub built for 10 to 100+ containers a month?
Yes. Tyllus is designed for import teams moving roughly 10 to 100+ ocean containers a month, with purchasing, logistics, finance and management working in the same records. Each shipment's partner requests, reminders, document checks and ETA re-timing run on their own, so adding containers does not add chasing work.
- Roles: Owner, Admin and Member; Admins manage settings, invitations, members and partners.
- Invite colleagues by email; invitations expire after 7 days.
- Every workspace is private and separated from every other workspace.
- Ask Tyllus AI questions in plain language across up to 1,000 shipments; it reads and summarizes and never changes data on its own.
