Topolobampo port operating rules take effect
Mexico's port authority announced that the operating rules for the Port of Topolobampo had been approved by the General Directorate of Ports. The DOF notice was published on 14 September 2026 and says the rules take effect the next day, 15 September. It points readers to the full rules rather than reproducing them.
What changed
The Topolobampo port administrator published links to the approved rules on its own site and in the Diario Oficial. This is a port-specific operating-rules announcement under the Ports Law, not a countrywide customs or tariff change.
The short notice does not enumerate every berth, access, safety or documentation procedure. A carrier, forwarder or cargo owner planning a Topolobampo call should consult the linked rules themselves and confirm the current operational instruction with the port before changing a booking or arrival plan.
What logistics teams should check
- Confirm whether the planned vessel call, terminal or cargo movement uses Topolobampo and obtain the complete approved operating-rules PDF linked from the DOF notice.
- Ask the carrier, terminal or port administrator which rule and effective date govern berth, access, safety and documentation steps for the specific call.
- Keep the DOF notice, the rules version consulted and the port's written operational confirmation with the booking and shipment record.
