Mexico keeps China tile duties during a new sunset review
Mexico opened a sunset review of the existing duties and price undertaking on covered Chinese wall and floor ceramic tiles, effective 24 October 2026. Both remain in force during the review; the previously listed 24 October expiry does not remove them.
What changed
The review period is 1 July 2025–30 June 2026. Existing company-specific per-square-metre duties and the qualifying price undertaking continue, including its compliance reports.
Parties with legal interest have 28 working days, counted from the day after publication, to establish that interest and submit the required response and evidence. This is the start of a review, not a final new five-year extension or new duty rate.
Three checks for import teams
- Match the written product scope, exporter identity and tariff/NICO classification; check excluded special pieces and glass-containing products.
- Confirm whether the shipment is under the applicable company duty or the price undertaking and retain the necessary price and compliance evidence.
- If participating, confirm the 28-working-day filing deadline and UPCI requirements; continue current duties or undertaking obligations while the case runs.
