Mexico publishes 2027 duty-expiry dates, no immediate repeal

Mexico’s 15 October notice lists approaching expiry dates for duties on U.S. triethanolamine, coated flat steel from China/Chinese Taipei, and U.S. chicken legs and thighs. It invites domestic producers to request sunset reviews; it does not remove those duties now.

What changed

The table pairs expiry and interest deadlines: triethanolamine, 28 January 2027 and 7 December 2026; coated steel, 6 June 2027 and 29 April 2027; chicken, 7 August 2027 and 2 July 2027. These interest filings are for domestic producers.

Import teams should track later review or termination notices before assuming a duty expires on schedule.

Three checks for import teams

  • Match the product, origin and tariff items with the exact three table entries.
  • Keep expiry dates separate from domestic-producer filing deadlines in the calendar.
  • Check subsequent review or termination decisions before changing an entry’s duty treatment.

This is an advance expiry notice, not a rate change or a guaranteed future duty removal. It does not create a general filing requirement for every importer.
