Guaymas concession adds channel and anchorage areas
Mexico’s Navy published a second amendment to ASIPONA Guaymas’s port concession. It incorporates about 23.12 million m² of land and water, including the navigation channel and separate anchorages for large vessels and dangerous cargo, and removes 88,185.0917 m² of Navy shipyard areas.
What changed
The amendment was signed on 14 September and published on 27 October 2026. It consolidates specified areas under the port concession and terminates former APIM Guaymas concession 1.06.06; its existing partial-rights and port-service contracts continue on their original terms until expiry.
The operator has 90 calendar days from signature to submit any required changes to the master plan, annual operating programme and operating rules—not 90 days from publication.
Three checks for import teams
- For a Guaymas call, confirm the relevant channel, anchorage and dangerous-cargo arrangements with the port agent against current operating rules.
- Check the concession-area plan and the actual terminal or service contract; existing APIM contracts retain their agreed terms until expiry.
- Ask which master-plan or operating-rule updates have been approved before assuming a changed service or access condition.
