Mexico authorizes port service tariffs at several ports
Mexico’s Secretariat of the Navy published an aviso (15 Sep 2026) announcing that tariffs were authorized for various port services in multiple Mexican ports. The notice lists companies/ports and links to the tariff documents, and states the tariffs take effect 20 business days after publication.
What changed
The Dirección General de Puertos (Secretaría de Marina) issued a public notice that “fueron autorizadas las tarifas para el cobro de diferentes servicios portuarios” and provides direct links to the permitted tariff schedules for specific applicants and ports (for example, Servicios Marítimos Peninsular for Progreso and multiple Administraciones Portuarias Integrales for Baja California Sur ports).
The aviso states “la tarifa entrará en vigor a partir de los veinte días hábiles siguientes a su publicación en el Diario Oficial de la Federación,” while the notice itself is effective on publication.
The PDF links in the table contain the operative tariff text; this DOF excerpt does not print the numeric rates or detailed billing rules.
Immediate operational checks
- Open each listed PDF link (e.g. /2026/SEMAR/4204_2026.pdf) and download the specific tariff schedules for your port and service.
- If you operate in the named ports, compare the new tariff line items to your current inbound/outbound cost models and identify any changes effective 20 business days after DOF publication.
- Notify operations, customs brokers, and billing teams of the publication date (15 Sep 2026) and plan for the tariff change window starting 20 business days later.
