What changed

The US Commerce Department's 2026-18694 Federal Register notice announces preliminary antidumping duty findings for brass rod imports from the Republic of Korea, covering December 1, 2023, through May 31, 2025.

Two mandatory respondents, Booyoung Industry (BYI) and Daechang (including Seowon Co. Ltd. and IMI Co. Ltd. as a single entity), were found to have dumped at margins of 9.28% and 5.22% respectively.

The review deadlines were extended multiple times due to government shutdown and backlog, pushing the preliminary results to September 8, 2026, published on September 14. Interested parties may submit case briefs within 21 days after publication and rebuttals 5 days later.

Commerce will calculate importer-specific assessment rates and instruct CBP to assess antidumping duties based on final results. Cash deposit instructions for future import entries will follow the final review outcome.
