U.S. opens trade cases on die-cut food-service boxes

Commerce opened AD investigations into covered corrugated die-cut boxes from China, Malaysia and Türkiye, and a companion CVD case on Türkiye. The notices were published on 26 October, with applicability from 19 October 2026; they do not set final duties.

What changed

The scope includes specified food-service boxes, including pizza boxes and flat die-cut blanks, finished or unfinished. Flute thickness and assembled dimensions matter; this is not a case on every cardboard box. Producer/exporter quantity-and-value responses are due 2 November at 5 p.m. Eastern. Scope comments are due 9 November, with rebuttals on 19 November, also at 5 p.m. Eastern.

Three checks for import teams

  • Compare food-service use, flute thickness of 1.1–4.4 mm and the written dimensional limits with the actual box or blank.
  • Ask the producer/exporter about its 2 November quantity-and-value response in each applicable AD/CVD case.
  • Prepare any scope comments for 9 November and rebuttals for 19 November; coordinate filings across the applicable proceedings.
