Mexico modifies port limits for Guaymas — DOF notice
Mexico published an agreement modifying the Delimitation and Determination of the Port Area (Recinto Portuario) of Guaymas, Sonora. The DOF text (dated 01‑Sep‑2026, published 09‑Sep‑2026) enlarges total port area and excludes an Astillero Marina parcel. The measure enters into force the day after publication.
What changed
The joint Acuerdo from the Secretariat of the Navy and SEMARNAT modifies the Recinto Portuario of Puerto de Guaymas.
The document states "Se Modifica la Delimitación y Determinación del Recinto Portuario..." and gives new total surface figures ("área total de 4,612,498.5085 m2") and an exclusion for the Astillero Marina (total exclusion area "51,734.8303 m2").
It declares the agreement will enter into force "al día siguiente de su publicación en el Diario Oficial de la Federación." The text references official planos (RP‑GUAY‑2026‑01 etc.) and detailed UTM coordinates; operators should consult those plans and the published DOF PDF for maps and exact limits.
Operational checklist
- Obtain and review the official planos RP‑GUAY‑2026‑01 1/3 to 3/3 in the DOF file or PDF to map new boundaries against your berths/terminals.
- Verify whether your leased/concessioned area falls into the newly included zone or the "Exclusión ZFMT de Astillero MARINA" and plan actions if administration shifts to SEMAR.
- Update port operation GIS and notify agents/lines of the new total Recinto Portuario surface and any changes affecting access or environmental oversight.
