Thailand tires: 1.14% preliminary margin, deposits unchanged

Commerce’s 9 October 2026 preliminary A-549-842 review calculates a 1.14% dumping margin for Sumitomo Rubber (Thailand) and the listed non-examined companies for 1 July 2024–30 June 2025. It rescinds the review for the Appendix II companies after withdrawn requests. These are preliminary findings: publication does not activate the proposed final-results cash-deposit rates or revoke the tire order.

What changed

The covered products are passenger-vehicle and light-truck tires from Thailand within the written order scope. The 1.14% figure does not apply automatically to every Thai tire supplier. Appendix III identifies the non-examined companies; Appendix II identifies the rescinded group.

The notice ties new company rates and importer-specific assessment to final results. It describes continuing prior-segment rates and the 17.06% all-others rate where applicable, not a universal 1.14% current deposit.

Case briefs are due within 21 days of publication under the notice’s modified deadline, and hearing requests within 30 days; participating parties must verify ACCESS deadlines and receipt rules.

Three checks for import teams

  • Match the actual producer/exporter and tire specifications to the written A-549-842 scope and the notice’s company appendices.
  • Keep 1.14% as a preliminary review result; ask the broker to confirm the currently operative deposit instruction instead of changing an entry from this headline.
  • Track final results and company-specific assessment/deposit instructions; parties considering participation should confirm the exact ACCESS filing deadline.

This brief covers preliminary notice 2026-20779 only. Rescission ends this review for specified firms, not the antidumping order. It is not a combined duty calculation or binding scope ruling; verify current instructions with your broker.
