U.S. issues duty orders on Chinese van-type trailers
Commerce issued antidumping and countervailing-duty orders on Chinese van-type trailers and specified subassemblies. The antidumping cash deposit is 129.73%, after subsidy adjustment; the countervailing deposit is 134.75%. The headline dumping margin of 130.86% is not the adjusted deposit.
What changed
The orders were published on 28 October 2026. Deposit collection and renewed suspension are tied to publication of the ITC’s affirmative injury determination on 20 October. The scope covers van-type trailers over 26,000 lb gross vehicle weight rating and listed subassemblies, assembled or unassembled.
Certain third-country processing does not remove coverage; subassemblies already covered by the Chinese chassis orders are expressly excluded.
Three checks for import teams
- Check the written trailer/subassembly scope, origin and chassis-order exclusion before relying on an HTSUS code.
- Confirm the separate antidumping and countervailing case numbers, adjusted deposits and entry-date instructions with the broker.
- For historical entries, obtain CBP instructions: the notice contains conflicting dates for the antidumping suspension gap.
