Mexico final antidumping duty on Chinese aluminium profiles
Mexico's 4 September final antidumping decision imposes 1.58 USD/kg on Chinese-origin solid, non-hollow aluminium profiles and bars, whether finished or unfinished. It covers temporary and definitive imports from 5 September 2026, regardless of shipping country, under the five named TIGIE lines or any other line used for covered goods.
What changed
The Ministry of Economy concluded investigation AD_29-24 and imposed a final 1.58 USD/kg antidumping duty on solid or non-hollow aluminium profiles and bars of any size or shape, with or without finishes such as paint or anodising. Hollow profiles are outside the product description.
The operative paragraph includes temporary and definitive imports originating in China regardless of dispatch country. It names TIGIE 7604.10.02, 7604.10.99, 7604.29.01, 7604.29.02 and 7604.29.99, but also says any other line.
Hacienda applies the measure from 5 September 2026; importers proving a different origin under the cited rules do not owe this duty.
Immediate importer's checks
- Identify solid or non-hollow aluminium profiles and bars in the pipeline, including painted or anodised goods; compare the product description and Chinese origin before checking the five named TIGIE lines or any other line.
- For covered temporary or definitive imports from 5 September 2026, calculate the final antidumping exposure at 1.58 USD/kg even when the goods were shipped from a third country.
- Keep evidence under the cited non-preferential origin rules if claiming non-Chinese origin; review product scope and declaration with a Mexican customs broker.
